Hello Sloan, First of all, thank you so much for your letter. In reading it, my heart really goes out to you. I know how hard it is to have your family members, in this case your dad, to have to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I think your dad is a hero, and I would like you to think of him that way. It must be very hard for him to be away from you on Christmas, but he is doing a very special thing by working then. In working at a hospital, your dad is doing his part to take care of people who are injured and sick who don't want to be in the hospital at Christmas. With your dad being there for them, he is helping to make their Christmas a little less lonely. I know that he would rather be at home with you but remember that he is helping people. May I suggest that maybe your family can pick a different day to be together and celebrate Christmas. Remember, there are different countries around the world that celebrate Christmas on different days. Some countries in Europe exchange gifts on December 6th while some others celebrate as late as January 6th and 7th. Talk with your parents about maybe choosing a day that you can all be together and celebrate Christmas.

Hello there Scarlett, I am so happy that you wrote to me. I am very impressed by your letter because at 6 years old, you wrote your letter all by yourself. That’s a very important thing to be able to do. Besides writing your letter by yourself, I like that you were very specific with telling me exactly what you want for Christmas. You even told me the sizes that you wear. That is excellent. I am sorry that your dad won’t be able to make it home for Christmas and I know that you miss him. What he is doing though, being in the military, is a very important job and I know that he misses you very much and would really like to be able to be home with you. While you are thinking about your dad, I know that he is thinking of you too. Don’t worry Hazel, you are on the nice list. I know that it can be very difficult sometimes to behave when you’re only 5 and have a lot of energy. I know that you’re trying and that means a lot. I think that Crayola Scribble sets are a good thing to ask for at your age. They are a lot of fun and they will help you build your coordination for writing and drawing. Those will be important skills for when you start school. The elves were so happy that you mentioned them in your letter. Thank you Valentina, and mommy, for such a nice letter. I am so happy to hear about how much you are growing and how energetic you are. You sound like a very happy little girl. Also, thank you for the well wishes for all of us at the North Pole. We are all doing very well and believe me when I say that Mrs. Claus will have all of the elves well behaved and working very hard on making all of the gifts for me to deliver on Christmas Eve. Hello Suzie, Thank you for your letter. Santa always loves hearing from you. I like the idea that you want a puppy this year. With a present such as a puppy, since it is a living animal, it is very important that you check with your mom and dad. It is a big responsibility to take care of a puppy. You will need to feed it, clean up after it, and most importantly, play with it. You have a great Christmas this year and I look forward to coming to your house this Christmas Eve. Hello Joe, Thank you for writing to me. I love the idea that you want a pet this year, however, while a hippopotamus makes for a very fun Christmas song, I don't think that it will make a very good pet. Especially when it grows up. How about you check with your parents and ask them what a good pet would be and then you can write back to me.
